Welcome
to Advanced Placement (AP) Biology at Neshannock High School!
This page is designed to be
used
by NHS students enrolled in AP Biology; it contains class
information,
policies, reference links, and interactive biology activities to aid
students
in taking the class and preparing for the AP Biology exam. With
the adoption of our new textbook, the class has undergone extensive
revision. Parents
and school administrators can find useful information on this page
and are encouraged log on regularly in order to see what we are doing
in AP
Biology.
The
Advanced Placement (AP) Biology program at Neshannock High School
passed the AP audit in 2007 and is
approved and certified by The College Board as an
officially recognized and designated AP® course.
We use the
unsurpassed Campbell/Reece Biology
(8th
edition)
in our
Advanced Placement Biology program at Neshannock High School.
This book
has been used by more than 6 million students and is used in 2 out of 3
college introductory biology courses for majors worldwide; 65% of all
doctors and biological
scientists in the United States under the age of 40 began their study
of biology
with this book. For
more
specific information
on our text book, you can link to
a comprehensive overview of the 8th edition by
simply
clicking
on the picture of the book.

Use
the Biology Gateway login button to go to the Campbell Biology

AP students have free access here to a BioCoach that has
activities to help visualize and apply biological concepts, the LabBench that provides
students with pre and post-test reviews of all 12 official AP Biology
labs, and
a large Glossary of
comprehensive biological terms and concepts.

- AP Biology students will be able to take online quizzes this year. In addition to our
regular in-class quizzes, students will be able to take selected online
quizzes and email their results to the teacher from the Campbell
"Biology Gateway" website that accompanies our textbook. Please
consult your AP online quiz instruction sheet for details on taking and
submitting your results; for students without a computer or Internet
access, class computers are always available for completion of online
quizzes.
