Welcome to Advanced Placement (AP) Biology at Neshannock High School!

This page is designed to be used by NHS students enrolled in AP Biology; it contains class information, policies, reference links, and interactive biology activities to aid students in taking the class and preparing for the AP Biology exam.  With the adoption of our new textbook, the class has undergone extensive revision.  Parents and school administrators can find useful information on this page and are encouraged log on regularly in order to see what we are doing in AP Biology.

Campbell 8e

The Advanced Placement (AP) Biology program at Neshannock High School passed the AP audit in 2007 and is approved and certified by The College Board as an officially recognized and designated AP® course.

We use the unsurpassed Campbell/Reece Biology (8th edition) in our Advanced Placement Biology program at Neshannock High School.  This book has been used by more than 6 million students and is used in 2 out of 3 college introductory biology courses for majors worldwide; 65% of all doctors and biological scientists in the United States under the age of 40 began their study of biology with this book.  For more specific information on our text book, you can link to a comprehensive overview of the 8th edition by simply clicking on the picture of the book.

Campbell Gateway

Use the Biology Gateway login button to go to the Campbell Biology Gateway "AP Edition" website that accompanies our textbook.  The website includes: an online eBook, interactive activities and tutorials, videos and MP3 lectures for download. Please click on AP version of the newly revised, 8th edition, of our text book in order to link to the proper web site.  To log in, NHS students will need their login name and password in order to enter and use the web site.

Use the Biology place login button to go to log in to the Biology Place "Classic Edition".  AP students have free access here to a BioCoach that has activities to help visualize and apply biological concepts, the LabBench that provides students with pre and post-test reviews of all 12 official AP Biology labs, and a large Glossary of comprehensive biological terms and concepts.
Use the AP Biology Class Resource buttons on the left to take you to special class pages and internet sites for AP Biology. These include our school and class calendar, AP Biology syllabus, current chapter note outlines, and our AP Biology lab helper.
For parents wishing to view our AP course policies, performance on the AP Biology exam, or if you are a prospective NHS student thinking of scheduling AP Biology for next year and want more information on the class, please check the Special Resouces on the left in order to take you to those special pages or documents.
